I don't really understand the whole thing about mod chips, so could someone please explain this to me? I was also wondering if I should get a mod chip now or wait until my warratty is expired? Also what is the best mod chip out right now if I should get a mod chip? Please do not flame me for this post since I am new to modding.
Thank You,
CrossEel
Dont get confused with xbox 1 mods and 360 mods, completely different scenario (at the moment at least)
no mobo mod exists for the 360 (yet) meaning no homebrew. The mods available are fir the dvd drives, and pretty much used for 1 thing, playing your backups.
At the moment, the nme is probably the best bet
Actually, the xbox360 is completely different to the xbox for another reason (aside from the obvious ones of course)
thats that the hard drive is ONLY a storage device, the 360 can boot without it (xbox 1 couldnt boot without a hdd) , meaning you cant and wont be able to mod a hard drive like you could on the xbox 1. So if mods become available for the 360 to run homebrew, you wont simply be able to load evox etc to the hdd and boot the 360 to the evox dash, it just wont work that way.

hey CrossEel
xbox360 usb is a connectivity device to connect your drive to the computer via USB.
Flashing your firmware is a way to mod you box, but not the only one; modchip are also available.
Ii IS true that we cannot run homebrew apps yet, because of the fact that we are modifying the DVD drive... not the system BIOS or the HardDrive.
also... you should either flash the DVD drive firmware or install a modchip, not both. And they do exactly the same... allowing the drive to read backed up (burned) games.
The difference is... that with a modchip, you can turn it off or disable it. However with the flashing, the original firmware is erased, a new one is installed and is always there...
hope that helps!
it seems that the fractal360 is a clone of global360.. so it "should" be the same.
To be honest, wiring that many wires, and cutting into your dvd drive pcb, is a pretty bad idea I think, thats why I would go with the nme
