Questions About Nme V1.2 Operation
« on: December 28, 2006, 05:21:00 AM »

I have noticed that original games only work if I cold boot from the power button

It never works when I play a backup and try to switch to an orignal unless I restart with the orignal

It shows uo as an xbox 1 game with the black and green screen with an error code stating that this is an xbox game

It always works perfectly once I restart

Has anyone else notcied this or is my chip just crazy

This freaked me out as well but it seems to be as normal as it gets.  My theory on this is that once the NME-360 1.2 is activated to play a backup, it will not simply go to sleep until a power cycle with an original disk is inserted.  The NME-360, when activated, looks for the security sector (SS) in a different location than an original has.  If the chip is looking for the SS on the backup, but an original is input, it is in essence exactly the same as when you put a backup in without a mod chip, it's looking some place that nothing exists.  It appears that when you shut down and start up with an original, it finally tells the NME to go to sleep and not try looking to override the SS insertion.
