ok.
Got my NME 1.2 to work with a backup :-)
Damn this was hard:
Remove Black Epoxy,
Soder the wires,
Create the backups....
But its working (Well at least so far :-) ).
What can I share from my experience?
1. check your xbox before you order the chip to see if you have the black epoxy - if you do prepare the hit gun and surgical nife.
2. use 30 gauge wires to solder the points
3. I would suggest getting a magnifing glass - it really helped me.
4. get the thinnest solder iron tip you can find - this is really important since the points on the dvd board are not large as they seem on the images. they are really small so you want a tip that can easily access them.
5. get a two sided tape so you can tape you chip to the back of the DVD chip
6. solder the activity point - its not that hard and trust me, if you wont be able to play the first backup you put in you will think, damn it did I solder it correctly? and why didnt I solder the activity led? at least thats what went through my head.
7. if the first backup you burn doesnt work - try another iso backup. dont go and open the box right away, it might just be a bad iso.
8. if you put in a backup and you get the "insert disk to play" message, then put in an original and get that error message again. DONT PANIC :-) just restart your xbox with the original and it will work again.
Thats it from me,
Cheers
