Nme 1.2 Installation

hmm,... looks like they added a new point. That wasn't there a couple of days ago. It just looks like a ground point, but I don't know... it'd be nice to find out though...

I solder a wire from the B point of the chip to the B point on the DVD board and everything is working fine.

What wire gauge did you use?
30?

Cheers

Solder point "B" tells the NME-360 1.2 to utilize "Samsung" mode.  With version 1.2, it works on all the available consoles DVD drives, so it needs a way to know what drive it's working with.

30 guage works well for the data lines but you may find a little large guage works better for power and ground.  Some folks have used 22 guage, but that's freakin' huge for this application.  I'm using 26 guage, solid core, for my power and ground and everything is just dandy.

yeah you have to solder all the points it says in the instructions.. (except for x and y that are marked optional)
I use high conductivity 30 gauge for all the points and everything works perfect jester.gif

Just wondering if NME 1.2 can also be used to 'repair' a bricked DVD drive, or do you need a working drive to begin with ?

It doesn't but the All 360 might be able to. The install for that thing on both drives looks like a nightmare though.

nop! ph34r.gif
I did it VERY carefully with a 30W Soledring pen, with a chisel tip.
BUT i would not try it unless i had VERY GOOD pulse and very good timing...
If you look at the picture, i did a good job... but trust me... i dont recommend it for someboday that hasnt been using a soldering pen for 7 years blink.gif  it can turn out HORRIBLE
hope that helps
