the nme associator was cerated to convert xtreme images to work with the nme modchip. its unnecessary to use it without having a nme modchip soldered in your console

So does that mean that people with nme modchips have to take an extra step in generating a backup? I hear that many people like this chip but I would think it was a hassle to add an extra step.

the extra step takes less than 5 seconds to patch.   It is very easy..  patch ... burn.. play.. done.    check team-underdog.com

does the associator work all the time?...this looks like the ss patch of the future considering many people are now stuck with 0078 drives and they will have to use the nme patch as of right now for anything that is being made for the 0078 drives at the moment..my question is what is the process of taking your xtreme ss patched games already burned and making those into NME ss patched games?

My buddy had flashed his drive, but ran into problems and ended up installing the NME1.1 - all of his backups were Xtreme style backups.  He backed up his backups and patched them woth the associator, this worked.

Unfortunately - now he has 2 backups.

Since NME patched backups work with Xtreme firmware mods, it just makes sense (when you rip your own backup) - to patch it with the NME associator as it only takes a couple seconds.  Then your backup will work with either solution.  In case you ever have to switch.

Just a thought.
