Modding And Region Encoding

Just a quick question.

I'm currently living in Thailand, where the only available 360s seem to be Japanese models.  This leaves me with the problem of If I bought one of these models, would any of the available modding options allow me to play region-locked games, possible as backups.  For example, could I buy a UK or USA disc, make a backup and then run that with the mod enabled?  

If not, are there any likely potential developments in this area?  My hope isn't to be able to play pirate games - but rather to play legitimate games that I can't find a Japanese/Asian version with an English language option for.

Nope.  Region locked even with firmware modding.

region setting is IN the game, i think in the xex, any change to that, game will not load
