Bricked Drive / Modchip

I am wondering the same thing. I just want to return to the stock firmware, but my drive is bricked.  I wouldn't mind buying one and soldering it in if it would fix it.

Maybe someone can shed some light on this.

Well the current modchips out will not recover your bricked drive.You still need your original firmware on your dvd drive for the chip to work.If anyone has a Hitachi Drive then this person can fix it for you.

Also if you have your original firmware backed up then you can buy a new drive and flash your original firmware back on and be good as new.

ya we fix the dvd drive if you got your original firmware file.
but nothing can recover since the DVD KEY is needed.
