The NME 360 is not good anymore as it has the old firmware on it. The Globe 360 no one knows how to flash it and the Fractal 360 is not even out yet.

confused a bit, how is nme-360 old? what old firmware? Remember nme-360 is not a full firmware replacement like those other solutions, so i am not following you.

They pretty much all suck lots of butt.

NME doesnt use the Xtreme firmware that most people used to make backups of their discs (whoever decided to abandon the already "mainstream" firmware hack is the biggest idiot on the planet). A firmware that is updated and improved all of the time. Will the NME firmware be? So basically you have to redo your discs if you want their chip that does the same things that you can do for almost nothing.

Butt sucking chips that really have almost no advantage whatsoever over what is already been implemented for months.

They are the first chips tho! Thats what's important!

Heet: correct you have to redo your discs, but that is if you have all the games, and if you already have all the games, doesn't matter if homebrew chips come out and change the SS.BIN sector area, you won't be switching.
I have now 12 people sending me both Samsung and Hitachi drives to fix for them since something screwed up and they bricked them. so an NME-360 is a solution for them, and converting them is not hard at all.

but atleast the NME-360 isn't a full firmware IC replacement like the other solutions. so becuase the FW hack keep getting improved does it mean the NMe-360 needs updating? not really since it does stuff differently.
and since the NME-360 doesn't use the public hacks, it shouldn't be expect to be needing updating.

o my bad I thought the NME was using the old xtreme firmware sorry. But another downside is that the Pioneer 111D burner can't copy the games right.

sar: i think you got that backwards. globe360 is out and fractal360 isn't yet.

also, no one knows that fractal360 will have exactly. but i mean they most likely went after the same bios points at the NME-360 product, since its the only low wire count solution out there.

but we will have to wait and see.

what is the Fractal 360 going to run price wise ? I guess next month it will start selling. for me from what little i've read on this thread its a no-brainer that the Fractal is the way to go. My question is -- my firmware is xtreme20 flashed and i dont have a backup. what to do ? and hopefully it will be easy enough to mod and not too costly. though it would be nice to take away all our worries.

I have to agree the NME 360 was obsolete before it was even out. You need to use their own special method and to make backups work. the globe 360 sounds like its already flashed and isays its plug and play, but there is confusion on that. I have the global 360 on order and will post when it ever gets here.

Currently there is no advantage having a DVD-rom chip. Firmware flashing is best current method. I suggest save all your cash and wait until there is a real purpose for it. We are seeing an explosion of development ocurring right at this moment and it will only pick-up not slow down. So forget about putting chips into your system and wait until they can actually get full control of the system and then we can start talking about mod chips.

All the chips coming out are nothing special but just fucking cash sluts for paying off someone's Maserati!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
