I have that burner and I was using FujiFilm DVD+R DL and tried many different ways to get a working NME-patched backup on my Samsung drive without any luck. I found out that it must have been the NME-360 modchip or the way I was patching the games because when I installed the Globe-360, all of my copies that I thought were coasters, worked perfectly.

I would say this burner can definitely burn good copies, and that I was probably not patching the games correctly.

I have a Sony DRU-810A and am using Memorex DVD +R burnt at 2.4x.  I have an occasional issue with the game booting, but I just eject and reinsert and it usually begins working.

2. Disk that boot up and display the "to play this disc please insert it into an Xbox360.  I notice these disk never really spin up really fast.  I've read that this error means that you have not applied the SS correctly but that it's possible your NME mod is installed correctly.

I have gotten this on a disc that I failed to place the appropriate breakpoint (which is always 1913760) into Imgburn.  Once I inserted this value and reburnt, it worked fine.

Bummer, I was hoping it would replace the existing firmware and allow the drive to function.

I have questions that are pretty easy to answer, i think.

1) How hard is the NME360v1.1 (for the samsung) to install?
2) Where are the most indepth instructions on how to solder the NME360 to the drive? I showed someone i know who can solder pretty well the instructions i saw on modarea, but he asked if there are more detailed instructions anywhere, so i'd love to find that.
3) If i want to remove the NME-360 from the board, is that difficult? or is it the same difficulty (if not easier) than installing it?
4) I have the ms28 firmware and ill be using the hacked firmware of the SH-D162C. If i just install the modchip, there are no other big issues i need to know about, right?

I hope this isnt too many questions and i hope they are easy to answer. Thanks in advance

1) easy only 4 wires.  use the ALT points!

2) try the nme-360 main site as well.

3) not difficult to remove, since NO TRACES are CUT.  and its only 4 points.

4) leave your original firmware on the xbox360 dvd drive and install and you are done.
and you can use the 162C for your backing up.  more details at the nme-360 site.

After closer looking (at both the tutorial on modarea and the team underdog site), i have noticed that you must solder four wires from the modchip to the four points (one just to the side of the modchip, two to the right of the SST chip and one on the other side of the board). Now i have no idea if the modchip comes with the four wires already soldered, but either way, i know they need to be connected to the spots shown on the modchip.

Now is that all? does the modchip just "rest" on the board? Or I hope thats not a noobish question. And yeah, if it just rests on there, then all i need to do to remove it would be to heat up the soldering points of the four wires connected to the drive, which im sure isnt that difficult smile.gif

Im sure i may need future help if i decide to get this modchip, lol. But for now, i just have one about soldering. I've asked a similar question about this elsewhere, and i got replies that it was hard and could easily damage the dvd drive and that i have to "dremel" on the dvd drive board and i have to remove the eproxy. Is that correct? Or are those replies from people who just don't like the NME and may be trying to persaude me not to get one?

Some say its easy, some say its hard. im just confused sad.gif Thanks a lot for your help so far though.

Well the NME 360 1.1 How I see it is really for the fewer wire counts with bug fixes. It depends which drive you have the NME-360 1.1 is out for the Hitachi and the Samsung. As for the LE is only for the Samsung.

But My question is that I havnt been albe to burn a suscessful backup. I have tried using the wxRipper and then converting with Xbox SS Merger 1.7b then using CloneCD to burn it. Burned using the Pioneer 111D "Fw: 1.29"

But it sounds like the laser is skipping sometimes and I have got both "Open Tray" and "Insert in a Xbox 360".

And Was burning at 2.4x

I have a Hitachi 47
