Nme-360 Questions And Answers Here
« Reply #60 on: December 12, 2006, 02:17:00 PM »

Woo - yay for this topic, no need for so many NME questions.  But here come a bundle from me

1.  Can someone suggest a good burner?  I know the acclaimed Pioneer 111 (or something) does not work, so a good burner suggestion would be nice, external if possible (i have a shuttle PC and i'm pretty sure you need special ones due to the size)

2.  I'm in the UK, and from what i learn we get Sam/Tosh drives, but they have black resin on them.  I've seen the process on how to remove it, but was wondering just how hard it is?  (i have the tools for the job)

3.  Lastly, just how easy is this to install, i have some engineering experience (probably prefere to take apart a console or PC then reprogram it) and i got all the tools.  But how easy is it and now long does it take?

Thanks, Dee

hey i have a few questions too! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

first when will the diagrams for the nme 1.2 be released?i wanna buy this chip but until i c  clear instructions im not gonna proceed

second:how many wires to solder on a samsung drive?

finally  i would like to say that this seems the best solution available for the 360 so far no argue about that.

the nme original diagrams with 4 - 5 wires to install didnt seem too  hard to install
i know the globe360 is much more powerful that the nme but in ratio... 30 wires to install.. not worth the risk of messin up the whole console

fw hack is great but to be honest i rather spend 40 e now and enjoy the console to the full with live, than havin to spend 400 euro for a new console if i get banned

Well, looking at that wiring diagram I'd say that you don't have to remove the epoxy - and even though it's 11 wires for the v78fk drive, they're all together on the exposed part of the PCB - there's no wiring onto hte back of SMT compoments or any pain in the ass like that.

If it works (which it might) - I see it being a 20 minute job.

I just got a premodded xbox360 with the nme 1.1. I dl the Marvel game whic is about 3.5 gigs. When i use the convert button on the associator it says its finished but the image stays the same size, it doesnt go to the 7gigs thge site talks about. And then, the imgburn software doesnt recognize it as a legit iso and doesnt buirn it either. I then use clonecd to burn it, but it still doesnt work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And also, what are the steps required to make an xbox1 iso work with the chip? Thanks.

Q: Will your chip enable my XBox360 to boot games from other regions?
A: No, it only boots same region backups or region-free backups.

I have seen some xtreme images that are not exactly 7.525.056K in size.  I am not sure why this is, as I did not build the images.  All the images I have built are the right size. I am wondering if there is anyway to patch these images to the correct size to use with the NME-360....

Not sure if this is the appropriate place and please delete if not...

But - you have to unrar the images etc.  If your iso is only 3.x gigs - it's not a good image.

Anyone install the NME v1.2 yet?  I want to know how well it works, and if it's been tested with the pioneer 111D burner.  Also for all the ppl that have the NME v1.1 installed, have you been on XBOX live with original games, or are you prohibited from live and any updates?

I installed the NME V1.2 2 days ago. It was a real PITA. I probably wouldn't do it again. Those 9 wires next to each others are a challenge and it took me 5 hours. At first I got the E64 error , I checked my connection several time and finally got the XBOX to boot. I was the getting Disc unreadable. I tweaked the laser down to 3.4Kohms, but no go, then at 2.9 I started to get one backup to start every two or three try. When I reached 2.6 everything started to work and I have had no problems since. I have the hitachi 59D drive and I burn with a NEC-3550A DVD+R DL Booktype.
I have played XBOX live without problems so far.

I just did the NME 1.2 on a sammy. My board doesn't have the 'X' and 'Y' points as illustrated in the diagrams for the Sammys. WTF. I even had to borrow a torx-9 to take apart the whole MB to get to bottom side. I must have a different revision than everyone here who's had success. I did an MS25 to be exact. I can play backups but I don't get the cool features.

Umm....The points X and Y are not on the DVD drive board. Ones on the LED board on the back side of where your power ligths are and the other one "Network" is on the MOBO on the Fan Side near the Top.

Also the Pioneer 111D is supposed to be fixed for the Hitachi models. So dont worry about that.

I knew it's not on the dvd drive board.  Read my post! Notice I didn't say I can't find it anywhere on the DVD drive board. Plus you didn't notice I said I borrowed a torx-9 to look under the mobo? There was like 7-10 little black torx screws holding the mobo to the metal casing. How did you miss that? Geez you kids should learn to read. When I say I can't find it on "MOBO"....I meant network point on main board. I should've took picture to show you guys...but I gave it back to friend already. He's okay with it without network cutoff and activity led for now. Until team underdog makes a suitable diagram I'm SOL. I  found the R1C1 point, but it doesn't have a resitor to solder to. It looks identical to the R1C2 point, ie has two open connections to which to solder a resistor. Thanks for the input...but I'm better off contacting my supplier. Hmmmmmm......yawn! This is really aggravating. :[ For Team Underdog: Here's the model number I have on the main mobo: X803600-011. It's a ms25 drive.

edit: sorry for coming off pissy, but I have 6 times more posts than you and I've been doing xboxes and ps2 for a long time now...so I know how to help myself. You notice I don't bash team underdog like other's have been.
dude they're really working hard to make us benefit, while helping themselves too. $45 dollar/ chip is pricey. But that's what they can do since they're pioneers. It's just the customers I will be having in future that I will have to explain to them in laymen's terms too. Hope they understand...some don't
