Oh, I forgot to post the one bit that bothers me.

If they are legit, then they are more about the almighty dollar than the about the scene.

If a hole was found, why hasnt it been shared?  This doesnt mean its BS, but would mean its greedy.  Post the hole and let everyone rush to market.  Lets hope they have shared some info with other chip makers.

OK, But lets not even turn this into a religious debate, Right now, i think its a fair call to say bogus, i'm on thier site right now (yes, refreshing about 10-15 times will load it) and xecuter thinks its spider team... so for everyone saying "Give them a chance", they didn't even give themselves a chance when they missed out on covering up thier own tracks... anyway, I thinks its all b-s now, but i hope to be proven wrong tommorow!

However we did not manage to get the product ready for today (6/6/6), because we are working hard on improving it to:
* Try to protect it from any type of update
* Make it programmable via PC
* Boot unsigned code
* Allow to swap HD with larger drive with a special interface between the 360 and the HD (all types IDE/SATA).

The 'chip' needs to be IMPROVED to 'run unsigned code'? LOL
Isnt this the sole purpose of a modchip?
Why would you install a chip unless it does the above?(or its a dvd firmware chip)
Also you would assume the current 'prototypes' dont boot unsigned code either, how can reputable people confirm anything then??
sooo WHAT DOES IT ACTUALLY DO ATM??? Is it a chip just for piracy???  wait we already have f/w for that... dry.gif

so how long would it take to "improve" it to boot unsigned code???........
how long's a piece of string??
all will be answered by 6-6-6666.....hopefully

P.S. I HOPE TO EAT MY WORDS MORE THAN ANYONE HERE!!!

EDIT: sorry to the mods for the double post........

*sigh* This is really disappointing... I'm not expecting anything now... here's my reasoning:

1. missed the release date

How come they were ready to release it last night, yet not ready to release it today?

2. claimed the chip will allow the use of IDE hard drives

Ok. How is a chip going to do this? tongue.gif

3. decided not to release it today so they could "improve" it

Honestly, what *sane* person hypes something like this, then at the last moment goes "wait a minute, we could add more features in here and NOT release it, thus disappointing everyone!"?

4. "will send prototypes to xbox hacking sites"

I've heard this line before (and not just in the xbox modding community...), and every time it has meant nothing but trouble. See, now they can create confusion by blaming the sites the supposedly sent samples to when nothing shows up. "Don't blame us, we sent the samples out, the xbox hacking sites are trying to keep us down!" wink.gif

I hope it ends up being real, but until they can start making release dates and being a bit more professional about it, I'm not very excited. sad.gif

they hyped up the announcement, not the release

I'd just like to point out that their site is actually suffering from an overload.  If you refresh the page a few times, you might get lucky and actually see a page.

WOW First try i got it! But I just got lucky. I won't be able to use any links for another hour biggrin.gif

meh.  I doubt it's true.  atleast about the fact that they're anywhere remotely close to having something to release.  how can one obscure team find an entirely seperate security loophole when there hasn't been a peep about any weaknesses other than the firmware?  (that i've heard, I might be completely wrong about that though)

that would be awsome if this was legit, but i doubt we'll see any true modchips (like ones to run your own bios) for some time to come.

Have you ever considered that if they HAVE discovered a hole, they may not want to let MS know about it too early so they can fix it?  They have already put epoxy over chips to stop the one firmware mod that's out there.  (forgot the name of it - too damn tired atm)

Take this into consideracion, remeber Ice Modchip it had a cool web, created fuz, showed a fake Mod chip picture. What if this guy just improved his stradegy since last time. I recall in the first news anuncment he mentioned a device between dvd and mobo. So now hes saying its got nothing to do with dvd. Its to close to call whether its fake or now, meanwhile.

Camadore 4 Eva

Edit: Xantium how come you posted this time, can you show us your proof cause you seem quite confident by your last post. I think that guy or team showed you something. ph34r.gif

as far back as i can remember, first mod chips were to get around checks that prevented you from playing imports, and later burned games aswell. If i remember correctly the xbox1 mod chips used a man-in-the-middle attack on the lpc holes where the dev kits would take control, inturn giving anyone with a mod-chip the ability to do so themselves.

The chip needing to be improved to run unsigned code doesnt sound so crazy, unlocking the possibility to run the code is one thing, running it and running it correctly is a whole other story.

im sorry but it smells horrible when you talk out your ass

Hmm..

Yep, they have the same "firmware" hack we all have, and they are trying to
find a way to "improve" it to do more than it does, and maybe design some
clip-on board which sits over the existing chip which can be easier flash using
a programmer thru the "printer" port instead of needing the SATA.

Second part is easy to do, I have done that myself with a simple PCBoard
design.

They are just waiting until "Commorade4eva" releases his next LG firmware,
and then they are going to say they shiped "prototypes" to the "scene" boards.

Most people in here are trying to drive their expectations as low as possible, so either they dont feel 'hurt' when it turns out to be fake or they get a tremendous high when it turns out out be real.  So let the idiotic comments and rationalizations roll on....
