My Old Mod - Re-entering Scene -- Need Help

I had my XBOX 360 modded years and years ago and was able to play backups just fine. I literally haven't turned it on in 3 or 4 years. It booted right up but I am unsure what has changed over the past years? Could I play a newer backup like a Halo 4? I have no idea what mod was originally performed so I am unsure what to flash or not to flash.
Any help getting me back on track and playing backups would be great.

I am also curious if I can go out and buy Halo 4 and play it on this unit or could I potentially screw up my mod?
