Unflag Nand With Hex Editor Or Is Secdata Overwritten?
« on: October 27, 2011, 09:30:00 AM »

I have a non-jtag, non-xenon, Jasper 256MB, v2.0.13599.0 dashboard. I can dump and program the nand without issue with Nand-X. All dumps are 100% match.

I was banned while connecting to live about 1 month ago for what i suspect was a bad dvd key. All i
want to do is unflag my nand so i can play offline. Currently my live profile shows up corrupt. But i can install games to the HDD and it has not corrupted any save. I test this by creating a new profile.

XVal says "Secdata is Clean".

I have read a few places that i can use a hex editor to fix this. But i can't figure out what to look
for. Here is a copy of my sectdata log. I did not have a backup of the nand before the ban. Am i SOL? Thanks.

BACK UP YOUR SAVES AND PROFILE BEFORE YOU DO THIS!!

I solved the issue. It wasn't a problem with the nand. It was a corrupt user profile. I tried to re-download my profile before dumping the nand but that didn't help. On the "banned" 360 and un-modded 360 my profile showed up as corrupt. On my 2nd modded 360 it worked fine. The second modded 360 is also the only box that connects to live.

I fixed it by copying my profile to a 20GB 360 HDD. You do not need to take it out of the  HDD shell for this. Used Xport360 v2.13 to view the contents of the HDD via 360 transfer cable. Copied the file Partition3:Content\E00001685ABD03FA\0001\FFFE07D1\00010000\E00001685ABD03FA to my dekstop. "E00001685ABD03FA" is the name of the file and does not have a file extension. Opened the file in Batch Con Flag Remover v0.2.4. CONSaver v1.4.8 would not see any files AT ALL. Used Batch Con Flag Remover to unflag the file. Which changed the Flagged Area from F00000084C6ACFE9 to FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Opened Xport 360 again and overwrote "E00001685ABD03FA" on the HDD.

I did find "E00001685ABD03FA" in these other locations but i didn't have to update them. Maybe once you fix the main one the rest get updated.

Partition3:Content\E000010148C6ACFE\FFFE07D1\00010000\E00001685ABD03FA
Partition3:Content\E0000200482ABEC2\FFFE07D1\00010000\E00001685ABD03FA

I do not know if this means that the 360 is not banned. I won't be able to know for sure until i confirm the correct DVD key and reflash the DVD drive.
