E66 / Cannot Process The Update

Got an old phat with a sammy drive running LT 1.0, tried installing latest update which just E66'd so swapped drive out for a spare original FW drive (with correct key for xbox) and went to do update again (this is how I did last update which kept E66ing as well).

This time however each time i try to update now it comes up "Cannot process the update", tried clearing HDD cache as suggested in an old post still no luck.

Any ideas?
