I have an old white xbox 360 that I bought on day 1 that they were released. I have modded this xbox a long time ago by flashing it with ixtreme firmware. I believe it is a hitachi drive that has ixtreme 1.51. This was obviously done a long time ago.

The console got banned from getting online with the huge ban wave with the modern warfare 2 release. Since then, I have not updated any firmware and not had any issues playing burned games offline. This is what I want. I do not need the activation disc either to play my games since it is ixtreme 1.51.

Now I have tried two new games, "rage" and "gears of war 3". For both of these games, when I put them in, it gives the error that the game requires an update, but the update could not be found. That is all I get and I am not able to play the game.

I have researched some of the latest information about "xgd3" games and "lt+ 2.0 firmware". However, I am not sure if this will solve my problem. If I re-flash my xbox to lt+ 2.0 will I be able to play these games, or will it still give me the update problem?

I noticed some people talking about some xbox's having compatibility issues with a new Microsoft update and so microsoft will give them a new xbox. I do not really want a new xbox.

Can anyone help me out with the latest information about this and how I can get these new games to work?

As long as you dont have a Hitachi drive, then your ok. Download the latest update, put on cd/dvd/pen drive and update(might have to do a few different updates depending on the dash version) When your on the latest dash, then flash your drive to LT_Plus_2.0. You should then be good to go.

flash your drive back to stock, then download the latest dash from MS (13599) onto a usb stick, insert and install the update.

Then when LT 2.0 is released for the hitachi (not out yet) flash it to 2.0.

You should then be able to play them.

I have double checked to make sure and I do have a hitachi drive.

Also my current dashboard is 12625. Can I just update via USB to 13599 dashboard and play the games or do I have to wait for LT+ 2.0 on hitachi's? As I said before I am already banned, so I do not need any stealth games/firmware. I just want to be able to play these games offline.

So I went ahead and updated my dashboard to 13599 via a USB stick. Now when I click to play game, the screen just goes black like its trying to load the game and then it kicks me back to the dashboard. No warnings or errors or anything.

the update reflashed your drive with new xdg3 fw and you have to reflash with whatever cfw you choose to play games.
