Coolrunner Resistor Removal And Programming...
« on: October 06, 2011, 03:00:00 PM »

Just checking but my board requires the removal of resistor R1,can this be done PRIOR to programming or does it have to be after its programmed? Do all the necessary diodes etc also have to be applied prior to programming also?
Appreciated as always!

You should program it before you remove the resistor, I removed the resistor and it isn't recognized by iMpact... anybody have the Ohms of the resistor? I want to try replacing the resistor and try programming it

Im using Ngzangs revision b board http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/822/f...te20110905.jpg/ which states removing r1.
Yep i get no response, what a chimp! Glad i kept the resistor now!
Edit... replaced R1,unbridged R2 and everythings rosey in the garden!

Resistor R1 is just a jumper, 0ohms. Use wire if you lose it.

I tried bridging it mate, made no difference.Tried a jumper also (is it not the same?) still getting "unknown device" like 13 of them in the chain!

What are you using to program the CPLD?

Are you powering the Coolrunner? I'm using a extra XBox 360 DVD cable to connect to a CK3 kit and powering it from there... still getting "Many unkown devices detected" and then it fails to see the C-Mod..(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
