Flashing Nand Of Already Jtagged Console Via Usb Drive?
« on: May 17, 2011, 01:01:00 AM »

What is the easiest way to update the nand for the latest dashboard 12625? The console is a Xenon, already jtagged through LPT, not sure on what version xell/xellous. Previously used freeboot toolbox maker to make the nand and then just reflashed through lpt, but it takes ages for it to flash. I know you can wire it for a USB onboard flash, but since it is already jtagged I believe it is possible to place the contents either on the HDD or a USB thumb drive and update the nand that way. If this is true, can someone shed a little light on how to do so? Thanks for any help.

Just a couple quick questions.

Does it matter what version xellous you have?

Does, "unplug everything", include the HDD?

Thanks for the help.

the console has XeLLous v1.0 By Redline99. I placed the updflash.bin in the root of the USB and put the usb in before booting to Xell (eject button) and nothing happened. Do you recommend jtag tool or bestpig for creating the nand? I tried both and no luck at all with the xellous updating the nand.

Any ideas?

Just tried a different usb drive, still no luck. The file is named updflash and it is a bin file, so therefore it would be updflash.bin

hmmm.... not quite sure what the deal is.

Update:

By unplugging the console for about 30 seconds at the power cord and then plugging it back in it took the USB drive and updated. Now the issue is that it doesn't read the latest dash: 12625

It still reads the old dash version 12611 under system settings. I don't want to apply the MS update for 12625 over that otherwise it could cause some issues. Maybe I am wrong, but doesn't jtag tool and freeboot toolmaker automatically set it up for the latest kernel that is "hacked" (given you have the latest version of the program)?
