That is not causing your RROD problem but to make sure try powering the xbox with the drive unplugged.
The drive is not needed to get the console to boot.

That is the NME modchip. If you know how to flash drives you would be best to just remove it and flash the drive with iXtreme LT+ after you fix the real cause of the RROD problem.

thanks a bunch, just the info i needed.

did a reflow and the board came back working, it had the really old "blades" dashboard, didnt check yet if it's old enough to be exploitable with king kong exploit. Would anyone want to do that theesedays or are there some new method that makes everything else obsolete? It's a falcon.

Good stuff, Glad you got it going.
We don't use the king kong hack anymore. Actually we never really did use it because it was too much trouble to do everytime you wanted to run homebrew.

You want to do research on the jtag hack. Because it has the blades dash you are 100% jtaggable.

This is the full jtag hack tutorial > https://docs.google....0dw33vpf4&pli=1
Here is a tutorial i made for doing the Jtag wiring. This is the best way to wire it. > http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=719652

I would remove the mod chip if i was you. You should just be able to remove all the wires and the drive will work perfectly.

I would not suggest flashing the drive with the mod chip installed. If for some reason the drive breaks during the mod chip removal then you will just need a new drive circuit board. I have a few if you need one.

You already have the drive key and you will get it again when you do the jtag hack so you got nothing to risk really.
