Xellous Not Working
« on: April 07, 2011, 03:46:00 PM »

mmmmmm.... not sure what you are doing ....

but
"
I renamed zephyr_hack_updxell.bin to free60

I injected the keyvault in free60.bin;"

now you are done

just flash this to your nand, and xellous will boot.... get your cpu key, nand dump etc. etc. make your freeboot image and flash that via xellous.

Those are the correct commands, and they work for the rest of us.

When you boot into Xell, is the power light on the console iluminated?

If in doubt, you can use USB for Xell => Xellous.

@ dennisv9

I would still need to inject Xellious in the image before I flash it to my xbox right? Otherwise I would only have Xell

@tk_saturn

ok thanks I'll look into that. Just to be safe I'm going to backup my whole nand first, right now I only have the first 2 MB

don't inject xell into anything, only inject your keyvault.bin into the (pre)patched xellous.bin. it is around 2 mb large, it is the file you renamed to free60. "zephyr_hack_updxell.bin to free60" ==> this is xellous. now you are done, don't inject xell into this... just inject your kv.bin into free60 and flash that to your xbox. then you are done

ok I'll give that a try first.

Injecting xellious the way I did has always worked for me before though

you are injecting xell into xellous, no need to do that. you don't want to boot xell, but xellous. the command you are referring to is/was needed to inject xell into the freeboot image....

Wrong on both counts.

zephyr_hack_updxell.bin is Xell and has a timestamp 06/10/2009 which was before Xellous 1.0 was publically released. Heck, there's a readme that comes with that file "This is XELL (compiled 11.09.09) inserted into 4558 Zephyr-Kernel."

That isn't the command to inject Xell into a freeBoot image. That would be:
CODE

nandpro image.bin: +W16 xell-2f.bin 30

I'm trying to jtag my first falcon, but I can't seem to get xellous working. I did the following procedure:
I renamed zephyr_hack_updxell.bin to free60

Why are you flashing a Zephyr image to a Falcon?

Something I should have noticed in the first post,
Why are you flashing a Zephyr image to a Falcon?

@ tk_saturn
you are right, i was assuming that he actually was working with a xellous image and not the xell image.

so to the OP, download the xellous image. they are around 2 mb. only inject your kv.bin into that

for falcon you indeed need a falcon file, but i don't think a zephyr image works on a falcon. since he gets xell to boot, he must be using the right image. unless xell isn't that picky? perhaps a typo mistake.... or...? but for xellous, get the right image. zephyr image on a falcon will not boot at all (rrod)

falcon for falcon, zephyr for zephyr etc. unless you have a late zephyr=early falcon board, they appear to be a zephyr but need falcon files (i came across a couple. they have a zephyr cb that needs falcon files). or the early falcon's (shipped with a 203 psu), that have the outer characteristics of a zephyr but has a falcon board with a falcon cb (i actually have 1 of these, all falcon but with a 203 psu connector and rating).

sorry my mistake, I copy-pasted the wrong file name from a tutorial, I am using falcon_opus_hack.

@dennisv9:
I downloaded xellous from the usual places, it's a .rar file which contain 4 files of about 232 KB each, so no 2MB image. But I found this thread: http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=713443. This is an app for building this image, I guess this is similar to what you mean. Will give it a try tomorrow

@tk_saturn:
nandpro image.bin: +W16 xell-2f.bin 30
This is indeed the command to inject xellous in freeboot, but I'm not there yet, I'm still trying to inject xellous in xell.
I use this tutorial, it may help clearing things up: https://docs.google....mv5h_186pp2zddm.
In this tutorial, xellous gets injected twice
