Need Help To Update From 6*** To 7371 Manually
« on: March 22, 2011, 07:39:00 AM »

Hi all,

I bought a zephyr elite console that has a blades dashboard, but seems to have been interrupted during an update. When the console is turned on it says something like insert the correct update disc, and it won't continue.
I've tried inserting a USB drive with the 7371 update on it but that didn't work, it just comes up with the same error.
Anyway, I was able to dump the nand and get the CPU key, but I want to create freeboot from a 7371 dash and not the current 6*** dash it's on. Since I can't update through the consoles, what do I do?
I had another zephyr 7371 nand where I injected the kv.bin and config.bin from the original, created freeboot 12625, but it only boots into xellous, and not freeboot.
Is there another way of going about this?

Btw, I did make a freeboot 12611 out of the original 6*** nand, but there's no HDMI output. I figure if I create freeboot from a 7371 nand this should work?

Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

hey thanks for replying. the dvd drive is connected, i've been updating the nand through xell. also i currently have the console connected via vga.
i made a freeboot imaging using a zephyr 7371 nand from another console and injecting my rawkv.bin and rawconfig.bin files. only boots to xell. the only thing i can think of is a bad freeboot image? is there another way of making freeboot from a 7371 nand that isn't the original?

there are several programs to use; best pig's freeboot creator; jtag tool; easy freeboot. they all do the same.

what you can try is to make a xbreboot image, and then update to freeboot.... for xbreboot you only needed the kv.bin and ... (and your cpu key). there is a tut on the scene how to go from xbreboot to freeboot without the original nand dump.

just try the other tools first, it does sound like it is related to the freeboot image.
