0020 = rrod, just heatgun, reflow or whatever. not sure why you rule that out, but it is not jtag related. but hey, just take out all your wiring and see if it boot. if it boots, you get an e79 error. then you know i am wrong, and you had a short. but i won't put any money on it - that i am wrong - 0020 is just a rrod.

you can take the lpt connector out, all flashing can be done via xellous....

i also run my console open, i run the mobo out of the case just on a magazine. since it rrods every few weeks - guess the error codes - and then needs a little bit of heatgunning. then it works for a month and fails...
