1. When I power the system on using the disc eject I get a weird red ring (the ring even goes orange) and a black screen. Rebooting the system fixes it every time. I believe this only happens when powering from the eject button, so it's just an inconvenience, but I'd still like to fix it if I can.

2. When a play and charge kit and controller are connected to the xbox it will not power off. Powering it down in anyway will just reboot the system. Again this isn't the end of the world, but is it normal behavior?

Thanks.

1.  This sounds like you have your console connected by HDMI.  Then when you eject, I believe its probably going to Xell and Xell doesn't support HDMI.  To support my theory, try powering by eject, but connect with component/AV cables.  You should see a fuzzy screen with a bunch of text come up and its ok if the screen looks fuzzy.

2.  Do you have Dash Launch installed?  Maybe some kind of setting in that causing you problems.  Also the console will stay in standby mode when you leave a controller attached to it.  Maybe this is causing it to reboot.

As for your game booting problems, did you use the latest ABGX 1.05 and do level 3 autofix?  What happens when you try to boot one of these games?  What error do you get if any?  Just a black screen? Unreadable disc?  The only thing I can think of is you didn't use the most recent ABGX or you don't have LT+ on your drive thats in your jtag.

OK so eject boots to Xell. Yes I'm connected by HDMI. And I took my xbox to a friends house who uses RGB and and must have booted with eject. I thought it was a code dump on the screen, and practically shit myself.

That I know of there is no dashlaunch installed. I've considered installing it, as I've read it may fix the AP2.5 issue, but only for external, so I haven't installed it, because I play all my games from GOD, I don't want a cheep fix.

The discs are both AP2.5 patched. I tested them in another LT+ xbox and they play fine. When I boot either AP2.5 game on the JTAG I get an Unreadable disc screen. I've got the jf.log and it says it was modded with LT+ 1.1.

I read somewhere that if you try to play a 2.5 game that isn't properly patched it will flag you offline and not allow you to boot any other AP2.5 games... ever. Is that right? I'm worried my modder my have tried to play a disc that wasn't properly stealth.

To fix this, you'll need to take your original smc.bin, run it through SMC Utility, and then manually include it in your files when building freeBOOT.

I only have xbr_smc.bin hopefully my modder still has the original smc.bin

You can extract your smc.bin from your original.bin with 360 Flash Tool.

Regarding your AP2.5 issues, are you sure that you're running the latest version of freeBOOT/fbBuild?  There was at least one revision to fix the AP2.5 problem, so you might be running an older version if you're not sure which version you're running.  Also, there's no harm in installing the latest Dash Launch.  It only adds features and doesn't take any away.

ALRIGHT! 3 months later and I can finally play Assassins Creed Bro (or any other games) from GOD. I used Easy Freeboot 5.10 and updated my freeboot and dash to 12625.

I still have the SMC issue that causes my 360 to not power down when a play and charge kit is connected.

I also still want to install the latest dashlaunch, it's my understanding that I have to build dashlaunch into the freeboot build before installing it.

I'm hoping that someone will point me towards a tutorial or give me a hand building a freeboot.bin with a fixed smc and ready to install dashlaunch 2.21

I have these files

my original nand.bin
orig_SMC_dec.bin
orig_SMC_enc.bin

anything else I need?

Thanks a ton in advance to anyone who can help me finally get fixed.
