Reading 10 Different Things, Hitachi + Ap2.5…
« on: November 29, 2010, 01:02:00 PM »

Hey Guys, im just looking for some clarification to see if I should keep waiting or start reflashing:
- I have a later Gen 360 with a Hitachi drive
- I took the dashboard update from Fable 3 and was able to play it 100%
- But NFS:HP does not work (disk error)
- I tried doing the USB key/ disk dash re-update but seemed to have no effect for NFS:HP
- I tried patching the NFS:HP iso using  abgx360 v1.0.4 -> no effect (but thats only jTag, right?)

Can anyone clarify where things stand for someone in my situation? Thanks

Reading 10 Different Things, Hitachi + Ap2.5…

Unfortunately, it appears that there's a lot of trolls & noobs spreading misinformation, in regards to AP25.

1 You already installed the Kinect dash, so you already missed the opportunity to install the no AP25 install exploit. So you're SOL.

2 If it gave the disc error on NFS, you're probably flagged to be banned... not kidding. Check your code using Xval 2.0 and do not connect to Live, until you know it's clean.

3 Do NOT use AP25 patched images with your drive, if it does not have Plus FW installed. Apparently AP25 patched games only boot on Plus FW drives. (I just learned that today, from AfterDawn forums.) Use the older ABGX 1.0.3 instead, for now. As 1.0.4 does not give you the option to not patch AP25.

4 With the Kinect dash installed, AP25 games will not work if the drive is not the original model. Meaning that if your system originally shipped with a Lite-On drive, that's what better be in it. (Just an example.) NO MORE DRIVE SPOOFING, PERIOD.

5 Hitachi drives have a lot of misinformation being spread about them. C4E said some older drives do not support AP25, like the Samsungs do not. However, he never went into specifics. And he never said there would not be a Plus for Hitachi drives either. Actually, I could have swore he said the ones that need it will eventually get it.

6 But, and here's where the misinformation begins... there's are people claiming that C4E said there won't be a Plus for Hitachi and others claiming all Hitachis play AP25 games after dash update. Those are trolls looking to 'flag' other users. Apparently getting others kicked off XBL is a new sport for trolls.

7 More detail on what version Hitachi you have would be helpful, for others to help you. IE Hitachi fw 46, 47, 59, 78, 79, etc.

I'm going to guess it's a fw 78 or 79, as those are the last two Hitachi firmwares before MS stopped using Hitachi drives. Wither those or any others support AP25, fuck if I know. Way too much misinformation floating around and not enough from the people who really know this shit.
