Did you read the whole thing? I found this same step by step process a couple days ago by reading that thread. I didn't say it started with the solution. The poster didn't know why it happend, but by about the middle they figured it out. You mentioned you couldn't find it, so I was mainly pointing out a place where this topic was researched and developed for anyone interested.

If you actually know first person someone who did get corrupted files, then it might happen to some, but not to all.
If you do need to patch, then you probably have the 1.6. Which is not a good job considering that when you modded you console LT had been out for a while.
The new LT+ which should be out probabily today (but actually not very useful yet as there are not yet the needed AP2.5-SS necessary to play the games), but I really recommend you have someone doint it for you, as it's quite complicate on a Lite-ON for a newby. And £40/50 for your last non-updated mod was a gunpoint robbery.
Activate disc work if you got an iXtreme 1.6
Otherwise you need a wave patcher and patch them to wave 3.

Tell me about it!! thing is i dont know anyone else locally who can do it, so had no choice. and really dont wish to take my console back to him, not many engineers would feel safe advertising this service - yeah i read on this http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=724490 that lt+ is out in few hours, but you say its no good without the SS files.... so any idea how long that will take.

whats a common price to flash to latest firmware so that i have an idea?

Sorry, didnt mean to seem wanting to pick an argument.
If at some point they figured out why, then what really missed was a guide and the links.
So here it is I supposed if they had put one up, this one wouldnt have been necessary. Also, looking at the dates, that topic was opened on november 19, this exploit was already known by then. Just it hadnt been posted here on xbox-scene.

I'm sorry. That wouldnt help. You're not screwed, since it all will be solved with the new LT+ coming out today. Only thing, you'll have to be more patient because there're no SS3 files yet to allowe LT+ to play the games.

I know many in UK do that service, I'm sure there's a way here in xbox-scene to contact someone who does.
As for the price, a fair price is about 30-50 euros for an LT on lite-ON. 20-35 euros for the iXtreme they put on your console.

LT+ will be a new equivalent to 1.XX Ixtreme for any drive, even non-LT drives like my good old BenQ ?
And sorry for my newbish, but what are SS3 files ? What would the LT+ do without the SS3 files?

LT+ is the new iXtreme, let's say. And it's good to go with BenQ and Lite-ON, right now. So you can flash it no problem.
As for SS3, it the result of 2 different Security Sectors:
SS2 which will provide the answers to the challanges the old AP2.0 protection presents to the drive.
AP2.5-SS, which will provide the answers to the challanges the new AP2.5 protection presents to the drive.
In order to work and play the game, LT+ will need these two SS in order to overcome the protecton challanges.

I really dont want to spend any more money, but guess a little bit of money on flashing better than buying games!?

AP2.5 cant be avoided in the full kinect dash. And for consoles modded with iXtreme or LT, there's no way to patch the AP2.5 out of the game.
The cost of the new console modding will be less than the price of a game. Which is still a good deal.

The difference between past iXtreme and LT with this new LT+ is mainly that, while past customized fw dealt with AP2.0 protection (a much less refined protection than AP2.5), LT+ allows you to play ALSO AP2.5 games, and offers you protection from playing a potentially dangerous game. AP2.5 works on many levels, and LT+ responds to each and every challange AP2.5 perform. So that you will be able to relax and enjoy your gaming experience, while c4eva stays up all night fixing the problems

Yes, on IRC news is that LT+ is gonna be released today.
As for SS3, ABGX360 will be compatible with it, and able to patch it into the iso, once a verified copy of it will be present in its online database. At that point, you will be able to burn the game and play it with an LT+ flashed console.
