You sure it wont work with this? Kinect is only optional and with this dash any kinect game works. As well as any AP2.5 game. It sounds strange to me it wouldnt work only for harry potter.
Maanden: Cool!! I knew it would ;-)

Maybe I burned a bad backup.  I will run abgx on backup and see what it says.

Yeah, check it out. Also, have you tried playing any other wave 8 or 9 game, or an AP2.5 game?
They all work if you followed the tut.
If you decided not to update from the third download but from the game (granted you can play non-patched games), the game must be an AP2.5 game.

So is this exploit a solid solution to play AP2.5 games for ex. on banned consoles ?
Or is it necessary to wait for LT+, no matter if your banned or not ?

Because from what I understand it's a some kind of AP2.5 bypass. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok ran abgx on backup all came back ok.  I did try backup with first 2 updates and no good so I tried 3rd update and no luck.  I have a lite-on with newest fw on it.  I have played fable 3 but have not tried anything else yet.

This is more like having a kinect without the AP2.5 in it. It doesnt bypass the check, it simply doesnt have it.
I'm sure it'll come the day MS will realize how fool they've been and will make a patch against the exploit through some game, but till then, it will work. I see it as a temporary help, that even with LT+ installed will get you through the time till SS3 will come out.
Then again, MS might take long before packing a patch on some game.

I tried this method, and it worked like a charm for me too. Thanks for the post. I have an unbanned console, so I tired it at my own risk.

A quick question:

I used the update inside the AC:B game disk at the 4th step. If I try another AP2.5 game in the future (for instance NFS), will it ask me again to update the dashboard with the one inside the game disk. If yes, does it make a problem?

Thank you.

What I can tell you is that this has nothing to do with a mod, but just a dash uodate that bypass installation of AP2.5 payload on a Kinect dash. And works on any dash as long as it's 9199 or earlier and on any drive. So I dont see why it shouldnt work. Although pardon my ignorance, I dont know what's a verion...

yo yo yo fellas it worked a bloomin treat will kinetic still work on this i am currently running lt 1.61 on my benq drive

Can you play any other AP2.5 now?
Cause the sequence was 2 kinect games (specifically those 2) and 1 AP2.5 game. Not 2 kinect games and 1 non-AP2.5 games.
That's why at first I simply posted the three downloads for everybody, so not to introduce any non-tested variable.

No, cause that update is the same in any AP2.5 game. You're good to go with any of them.

Sure. After all it's a kinect dash, and upgraded from kinect games.

Then you shouldnt have any problem with any game. I havent heard about Harry Potter before, but maybe people just jumped on ACB ehehe.
Those who already performed this exploit and have Harry Potter, should pop the game in and confirm.

I completed all the steps and AC:B is working fine without any problem. What if I connect to Live now? Does it ask me to update to newer dashboard (2.0.12611.0)? Or can it connect to Live without updating the dashboard coming with AC:B (2.0.12416.0)?

It might ask if you want to update to the new dash (which you shouldnt). I dont know if it's mandatory to stay on Live, since I havent tried (you know.. staying away from Live till any possible ban wave might pass).

Or would that make a diff?  It may be a a spoofed drive.

No, I dont think so. Others with spoofed drives had no problem. Also, Harry Potter has no AP2.5 protection, as well as this version of kinect dash.

Got a Hitachi (think it's v47), and really want to try this! I'm on the pre-Kinect dashboard.

Question though; As far as I understand, LT+ won't come for Hitachi.. What if I do this "workaround" to play AC:B, NFS etc, and -later- on, MS decides to include another patch within a game to bypass the bypass? Lol, kinda stupid sentence, but hope you get it biggrin.gif

In general; Should I be worried for future releases IF I decide to do this to my x360? Other ones feel the same as me? Or am I being paranoid, or something? As long as the Hitachi won't recieve LT+, I'm kinda worried..

Thanks for this tut, will sure check it out! smile.gif
