Disable 'live' From A Gamertag
« on: September 29, 2010, 06:03:00 AM »

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I have a jtag console and I copied my profile to it so I could have all my game saves with me to use. I do quite a bit of ftping and as we all know this requires a ethernet cable to be connect most of the time. My profile is live enable and I have it setup on a xbox live silver account (non-gold)

What I have done to prevent live form connecting is to go into the parental settings and disable xbox live connections. Now when it tries to sign in it still tries to connect but fails and I can cancel out the errors it gives
rather quickly rather than have it connect to live at all, which would be stupid in my case and completely destroy my jtag.

Hope this may help until someone posts a way to remove the live tag from a profile.

Disable 'live' From A Gamertag

Thanks for the tip piggymouth,

Was hoping for a way to change the gamertag file to just disable live to avoid any connection attempt whilst logging in to your gamertag or a XBLA game, etc. though, surprised there isn't a way to do this!

Whilst firewalling the Xbox on the router is also a way around it it also does not get rid of the timeout issues / conenction attempts either, would rather have liked to make it a 'silver' Xbox gamertag profile and be done with it....

Thanks anyways!
