You would only be able to have one active partition in use.

Okay,i think i have a solution not positive.
1. Make sure you can see invisible folders
2. Plug your hard drive into your computer/laptop
3. Explore the hard drive and look for a faint folder icon called Xbox360
4. Enter that folder and inside you'll see 17 data files all 1 gig big.
(Optional but recomended) Make sure you haven't saved anything on your hard drive yet.
5. Copy all the data files to you root of the hard drive
6. Rename them in a number order starting with 18. Eg: Data0018, then Data0019, Data0020, etc
7.This is expanding the folder to a larger size and should increase the capacity used by the xbox
