Thwack - G. Is the LPT wired up the right way? (remember the guides show THE REAR of the LPT plug, not the front!)

Slaps head!

Your not supposed to turn the 360 on when its plugged into the pc via lpt.

Is the power brick plugged into the 360? What color is the power brick? Orange or red?

Maybe you shorted something out. I know when I was jtagging my buddies xbox i accidentally got a little solder onto that little resister by the main read/write ports on the motherboard. The power brick light was red. It wouldnt read at all until I removed the short.

Well I had LPT wires backwards, however, its still not working.

Power brick is orange and it will turn on, I think the lpt port just isint working on this pc, cause when I plug in the 360 I get nothing about drivers or anything.  I plug in the power cord on the 360 still nothing about drivers, run nadpro 6.2 scans all ports...nothing.

Anyone got a link to how to do this with a usb?

Forgot to add this is a xenon board.

Guess while I am at the questions, are any flashed dvd drives safe atm?  This one has a toshiba.  And if its not safe, is it atleast safe to use to go on live with nothing in the dvd?

JTAG'd systems should not go on Live at all. You'll get banned faster with a JTAG'd system vs a flashed drive, just because it'll be very easy to spot you having rebooter.

Well, that depends on what version you are using. If you are using any of the IX's you're almost certainly guaranteed a ban, and with LT firmware, we'll see in November whether it can be spotted or not. That's if you're going on Live.

Don't even worry about offline use, as long as it does not connect to Live, you'll be okay.

Do NOT turn on the Xbox while you have the LPT cable hooked up. I've heard through various sources this can put you at risk for damaging the NAND, your computer, or both. The only power you need will be provided via standby when the Xbox is plugged into the power brick and nothing more.
