1. If I jtag do I need to flash the dvd too?
You don't have to - but you are better off doing so.
2. For the banned console, it has a liteon drive, anyone got any quick links for updating to the new LT fw?
Depends what rev. LiteOn it is - I'd imagine if you've already got your orig dump etc, then no need to use probes etc. Jungleflasher is your friend here
3. I know with jtag you can play dlc and iso from a hd. Is the iso from a hd, usb? or is there a new hack to put a 1tb in my box?
You can add a 2tb if ya like - in the hardware section there's some tuts for adding better HD's. ISO's can be played from any storage device on a JTAG - GOD2ISO is good for this.4. Common tip size for soldering iron? I assume SMALL
Yep - you don't want anything bigger than around the 2mm mark - also 15-20w is recommended (and flux).5. Roms and Emus. Is there a PS1 emu? N64, Gamecube? Obviously for 360 lol.
A very good N64 one is on it's way - PS1/Gamecube - not yet - but the usual suspects are around - MAME, SNES etcWith guides constantly being updated and better methods found to do things, is there a good guide around to jtag, what stuff to add, loader, dash ect along with differences? Heh this is a few questions, but any suggestions will help.
See the Kernel section in these forums - lots of good tuts, but as a basic rundown:1. Backup NAND at least 3 times, check NAND.2. Install JTAG wiring (remove/bridge R6T3). Create FreeBoot/XBR for your console3. Flash FreeBoot/XBR to 360. Sit back and enjoy. Finally, I understand you can dual boot, one to Xell other to regular old 360 dash. So here is my questions on that.
When I boot to normal 360 dash, if I go on live can or will I be banned instantly?
Not instantly, but generally within the first 30 minutes or so - JTAG's are NOT for onlinage. After the jtag is complete and running, if I DO get banned from live, can I re-enable media center extender ect? Currently those functions are crippled if you get banned.
Yep - as all you've gotta do is reflash your NAND with your FreeBoot/XBR image and you're good to go.And any other suggestions you guys can give me.
Enjoy it - and wait for more lovely apps to arrive
