Been A While Since I Jtag'd My 360
« on: June 06, 2010, 07:46:00 PM »

I jtag'd my 360 with the help of you guys around January.  biggrin.gif  Then life got in the way so I didn't play much of anything. Now I'm trying to add some games to the hard drive and I'm having a little trouble. I remember that I used to just hook up the 360 hard drive to my computer and transfer games to it:

HDD:\\Partition 3\Content\E5xxxxxxx\00000000\

...and it would work. I've tried that with another game and it's not working. Another site said to make a "games" folder like this:

HDD:\\partition 3\games\

I tried that and it's still not showing up when I put the hard drive in my 360. uhh.gif

Any ideas? This 360 doesn't have a disc drive, otherwise I'd just play the games normally.

Also, I just transfer the hard drive between my jtag box and my Live box, and I guess I had to update to go online because now when I turn on my jtag box it says security updates need to be applied. I say no and it goes to the dashboard, but then any game I try to play says it needs to be updated, and I can't play anything without applying the update.

So can I apply one or both of those updates or will they ruin the jtag? ph34r.gif

Thanks,
Matt

Boot up FreeStyle Dash and connect your console to your network. Use an FTP program to connect to your 360 with the hard drive connected to it. Then try to transfer your game to your hard drive that way.

K, that worked. But I still can't play anything because it says an update needs to be applied to the console. I just choose no and it brings me back to the dash. sad.gif

Where are the updates stored on the hard drive? I seem to remember being able to remove the update folder to be able to play the game.

If you have the appropriate resistor removed/shorted out, you can do the update safely. All it does is enable Avatars on the console, it won't kill your JTAG. That's only for the 9199 update (or 8955 if you're on XBR3).

Yeah I've thought about it but I'm not really sure on how to do it. I've read that you can remove the resistor or you can just short out two traces on the bottom of the motherboard. I'll have to look into it because I'd rather be safe than sorry.  smile.gif
