Flash360 Or Xellous For Freeboot Flash
« on: May 20, 2010, 10:44:00 PM »

Hello all.  I am looking to update my 360 to freeboot 0.032.  I'd rather not have to open my 360 and use my usb flasher to update.  I am looking at using flash360 or xellous (still need to update from xell).  I am not sure which to use.  I have read threads that say use xellous and never flash360 to flash freeboot, and others that say use flash360 and never xellous.
So, I figure a few people here have done it and can recommend the best option.

Thanks

Well I can't state which would be the absolute best way but me personally used flash360 to go from xbr to freeboot choosing the option to keep my keyvault and config when asked and didn't have any problems what so ever on a jasper 512.

So I am getting ready to build and update my 360 now.  I am building the image using freeboot toolbox Maker 2.3.  I decided that i will use flash 360 to do the flashing.  After i make my image in freeboot makertoolbox then what do I rename the file as for use with flash 360?  I think i rename it updflash.bin, is that correct?

Thanks

Success.  Got freeboot 0.032 installed.  It was easier then i expected.  Enjoyed not having to get out my usb flasher for the task.

Thanks for the info everybody.

Just make sure to manually remap all bad blocks because flash360 doesn't do it right and you'll get E79

What do you mean by remapping bad blocks?  Can you say more about this, I don't know that means.
