Ok Let me tell you what I did. I have a Jasper 512mb with XBR and I have my ORIGINAL Nand backup. I followed ONyX 10 easy steps to freeboot 0.032 your Xbox. If your not familiar with the TUT. You use freeBoot Toolbox maker 2.2, then flash with Flash 360. Simple enough.

After I did that my Xbox wouldn't boot. No red rings, not E79 no audio or video, but I have power. I can boot in to XeLL.

After some research I found out that jester said that Flash 360 has a problem handling BB with freeboot and to use XeLL to flash. So I did that, and I get the same problem. I dont get any error's during the flash or anything.

So some people on another fourm told me freeboot has an issue with BB anyway and just got back to XBR.

Ok so I created an XBR image and flashed with XeLL again. Still same problem during boot but something did change. XeLL did. Instead of the normal screen I am used too. It gives me a bunch of errors and won't use the flash operation anymore.

This is what I get on my screen with "updflash.bin" on a USB stick
Here's a video of me booting with "updflash.bin" on a CDROM and then the USB.

Crap. I can do it with a USB reader correct? and know where I can buy one.

Ok I downloaded XeLLous v1.0 from autoxbins. Renamed xell-2f.bin to updxell.bin

Then got this screen.

CODE

* found XeLL update. press power NOW if you don't want to update.
* flashing @1MB...
* unknown flash config 00aa3020, refuse to flash.

Your kind of in a pickle now.  Looks like your booting the freeBOOT version of Xell, it doesn't recognize that version of xellous.  You MAY be able to do the same thing by grabbing the xell-2f.bin file from the freeBOOT 0.32 package.  Be carefull what you name the file though.  I renamed xell-2f.bin to updxell.bin and it bricked the whole thing... had to breakout the flash setup and flash from PC.  You may need to rename updslot0 or updslot1, not sure.

I had the same problem. (Well almost cause i had e79 on nxe and xell booting) Try booting debian livecd from xell and use Xbr-Flash to flash your freeboot.bin. It worked for me i had bad blocks that only xbr-flash would see.
