Sounds like the drive either has the wrong key so it's not matched to the mobo, or it's crapped out.

If the 360 is Jtag'ble (ie has a pre 8XXX dash), then I'd Jtag it, recover the drive key, either reflash or if the drive is borked get another, and you've got yourself a nice JTAG'd 360 smile.gif

Nope pre 8XXX isn't pre NXE - some of the late 7XXX's have NXE and they're exploitable.

Have a look at the stickied thread in the kernel section here:

Couple of quick tips for the soldering then:

15-20w soldering irons best, use flux (Maplins do flux pens which are good for it), and have a practice on some broken pcb's etc you may have laying round.

Basically the art of soldering goes:

1. Prep wiring by fluxing wire then tinning (adding solder to exposed wires)

2. Apply flux to surface to solder to. Also add some fresh solder to the surfaces so they adhere better.

3. Think about the order you're going to solder in, and what's easiest.

4. Place wiring on surface and gently apply soldering iron - the solder should flow together.

5. Sit back and have a look at what you've done - check for shorts etc, and you should be good to go smile.gif
