Usb Hdd To Sleep

I know there was a thread in regards of this before but I can't seem to find it; I am sorry for a duplicate thread posting.

To make it simple, I recently replaced my USB HDD with a newer one, it's a 880gb Seagate USB powered.  The HDD never turns off if the Xbox360 is on, I need to know how to make it turn off / sleep.

I can't find the edit button so sorry to make a reply instead.


What I meant to say was if my Xbox360 is on standby mode (meaning there's power cable connected but the console is off), the USB HDD is still on.  Is there anyway to disable this (make the HDD off when Xbox360 is on standby mode)?
