Jtag Newbie Question
« on: March 23, 2010, 10:58:00 AM »

Hi all, long time scene member but never read much inting Jtagging. Trying to get a clear cut answer on a simple question.

To enable all the new modding hacks (running games from HD with no DVD, install Marketplace content ect.), can it still only be done with 360's not updated since early last year?

Or has there been a way to do it to more recent 360's discovered?

Thanks!

It's still only pre 8XXX kernels that can be JTAG'd - so no consoles manufactured post mid June 2009, or been on Live /updated via games since summer 2009.

Thank you! Well that's a shame. Hopefully a chip or hardware mod will overcome this eventually. Don't feel like buying a system that's likely to RROD for the additional capabilities just yet (although the Xbox BC almost had me).

There are still new pre 8xxx dash consoles to be found, they are tricky to come by but I see them quite often! Of course you pay a premium but at least you know the system will not go rrod on ya!
