Bad Nand Write E79 Error
« on: March 21, 2010, 03:15:00 PM »

hi yesterday i tried to fix my banned xbox360 and restore HDD functionality to install games to it , i'v done all the soldering to the motherboard of the xbox and created the lpt cable connected it to pc and rad the nand without a single error one time the nand that i modified and the seconde time for back up , then i did all the hex calculation and write it back to the first nand , after that i write it back to the xbox and there is the problem i got when i switch my xbox on it shows my ERROR e79
i'v done it several time the chacking and calculation before i write back to the xbox and this is the error i dont have any idea how to fix it so there is a way to write back the whole nand that i saved as a backup to the xbox and it will solve it ??
or maybe i can use a nand from different xbox the same 16M that was blacklisted in microsot servers but ran away from online before the baning stars is there an option ??
plz help me thnx

You cannot even try to use a NAND from a different Xbox unless you have your CPU key which is doubtful if your Xbox is banned. If you made a full 16 MB NAND backup then just flash it back.

CODE
nandpro lpt: -w16 originalbackup.bin 0

... "originalbackup.bin" being the 16 MB NAND backup you have. Replace "lpt" with "usb" if that is your flashing method. Have you tried using findsecdata to uncripple your Xbox rather than calculating it yourself?

You can build your own using the tutorials available here (you have to  buy all the electronic components) OR you can buy an  LPC-H2148 development header board (just search Google for it).

Not sure what you mean... are you talking about the NandPro command I posted earlier? What I posted is what you need to send if you want to flash an entire 16 MB image.

for future reference always backup your nand at least 2 times and check to make sure they match 100% with a hex editor. as long as your backup is good you will be ok.

I always use the build in Windows command FC for comparing the dumps. From command promt :

FC w:\work\dump1.bin c:\work\dump2.bin

If all is well you should see

C:\Users\obama>fc w:\work\dump1.bin c:\work\dump2.bin
Comparing files w:\work\dump1.bin and c:\work\dump2.bin
FC: no differences encountered

If there is a problem the address and value will be listed. for a pro tip always use tab to complete path and file names!
