Automatically Update Boxart, Etc. For Dashboards

Freestyle Dashboard does this.  It'll load covers/screenshots and even preview.wmv.  Included with Freestyle is an indexer program that you run on your PC that downloads the covers and screenshots/info and upload it to your xbox 360 via FTP.

Nothing that does it locally on the 360 yet but if the wii scene guys can do it, I'm sure the 360 guys can do it eventually smile.gif

You can't run ISO's directly.  They have to be extracted.  Which isn't a big deal I think.

Oh cool.  The version of Freestyle I downloaded didn't come with the indexer.  I got a version that has it now and I'll try it today.  Thanks for the tip!

Bummer on the ISO's but it's only a slight annoyance and completely understandable.

How do you run FSD Indexer on the PC?

It asks to open via FTP or USB

Xbox Drive: USB or HDD

USB options

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Run Freestyle on the 360 (or any number of programs with a built-in FTP client, but at least we know you HAVE Freestyle). It'll tell you the 360's current IP on your network, make a note of this.

Open the FSD Indexer on the PC and select "FTP", enter the details of your xbox360 (default user and pass should work fine).

Select the location you want the index to be stored. This will be the same location Freestyle loads it from. If you have a USB drive attached, Freestyle probably asked you where you want to store the files - it'll be the same location. Alternatively, use one of the file browsers on the 360 and find where fsdata is located. It'll be on the root of either Hdd1 or USB.

Then hit go and the rest is easy.

If you don't want to FTP, copy the fsdata folder that Freestyle creates onto a flash drive. Then, choose the flash drive in the indexer.

Worked like a charm over FTP.  Not sure I want to go through the hassle of transferring over all the preview vids I have.  The FreeStyle Indexer sure does spoil you biggrin.gif
