Where The Hell Do I Start?

For all that "hacking" experience you seem to have no experience in searching or reading. Here's everything minus the silver platter. For modifying DVD firmware go here and download the tutorial. If you want to JTAG hack your Xbox this is a good starting point. Next time do a little poking around first eh? sleep.gif

The dvd thing i have already been to, can i get a link on how the hell to hotswap the sata drive, that tut just shows how to use program. Also, is this jtag crap necessary? I dont have a soldering gun anymore, and all im really wanting to do is play gta iv full speed.

Wow, nice attitude. If I was being the douchebag I wouldn't have given you any links. Anyway... If you just want to update the firmware on your Benq drive (which is one of the easiest to hack) then follow the tutorial I linked to you. You can download the newest iXtreme firmware for Benq (which is Lite Touch now) on Xbins and flash that to your drive. I'm not sure what you mean by "hotswapping" the SATA drive. The tutorial shows how to completely read and write firmware to the drive.

If you aren't interested in running homebrew / unsigned software from your Xbox then you can disregard the JTAG hack. Do you have a hard drive with your Xbox? You can try installing the game to the hard drive and it should run much faster afterward. What is your dashboard version? Older versions of the dashboard could not install games to the hard drive...

As long as you still have the older dashboard then THIS is a good place to start.

Man cRaCKwHoRe is right...it is amazing how having a piss poor attitude won't get you very far in life esp among hackers who are figuring all this stuff out for people like you.

You can't recognize the drive in windows...well do you have a compatible chipset?  Not every sata chipset works to read xbox drives.  So which SATA chipset do you have?

P.S. We are generally nice to you unless you go and be a smart ass wink.gif
