How is this true?

I dont see what the main issue would be with using a PCI card. The OS would still see an LPT port as an LPT port! As long as the drivers were working the port, I really don't see why this would a problem.

Well the main issue with using a PCI LPT card is THAT IT WON'T WORK WITH NANDPRO. This has been asked several times - just because your eyes see on the PC that an LPT port is there, doesn't mean that it's addresses etc are the same as an onboard one.

If you don't want to hexedit, there's a Nandpro IO Patcher out there. It was on the main page of X-S a few months back. It will let you change the IO port to whatever you specify.

I used a PCI Express Serial Parallel Combo Card and all worked great.

I had to use the nandproIOpatcher and (this is a xenon) remove the resistors (since a pci card doesn't put out much power anyway) and add a diode on pin 11. Worked great for me. I've done 2 of them this way so far. Again, these where xenons.

Also, this is a win7 64 bit machine too.
