Jtag'd Jasper With 2 Flashing Red (1 And 4)
« on: March 11, 2010, 12:51:00 PM »

I've been playing my jtag box here and there with no issues.  Last night I turned it on and I got a little screen tearing on some screens.  Only the disc and gamertag tabs, if I moved over to games, it stopped.

It got really bad when I brought up xexmenu with like 4-5 lines of tearing.  I thought I would read and search the forums for awhile before posting about it.  I started it up later and it was gone, no tearing at all, everything was normal.

I get home now from work and I turned it on and everything is working fine, except I have 2 flashing red lights.  Even right now as I play it.  But they aren't the normal 2 flashing lights. These 2 are opposite corners from each other.

I tried holding the sync button and pressing eject and all it did was spit out the dvd tray.  There's no secondary code.

Has anyone else experienced this.  What should I make of this and the screen tearing.

Screen tearing is likely GPU issues. This is something you tend to see before your console ends with the 3rrod.

The two lights could be something with your jtag wires.

I'm also experiencing the two opposite lights on my recently jtagged falcon sometimes but the 360 seems to behave as usual even when they are flashing. I also haven't seen any obvious GPU issues. Still I don't remember my 360 doing the flashy thingy before i jtagged it, so when i saw it for the first time it scared the shit out of me.
Anyway, when i turn it off and on again (the regular way via power button or controller, no power cycle nessecary) it would boot up normaly and run for hours without complaining.

Also I've got some experience (like 20 years) with soldering and i like to think i know what i'm doing there (after putting a modchip in my old ps2v1 jtagging the 360 seemed like a walk in the park) so i don't think i screwed that up.

I'd really like to know what this is about 'cause i'd hate losing my 360 now that i can run homebrew on it.

It's mainly due to the fact that the JTAG wiring for Falcons/Jaspers utislises one of the rails from the ROL unit.

so what you're saying is this isn't really dangerous or a sign of immanent failure or anything like that, right?

Does anyone know yet what this is caused by? I was getting this as well on a falcon board and now I am getting the 3 rrod with secondary error code 0022? I am not home right now so I cant check but I am thinking that if it is related to the wiring that I may have a bad diode. I will post as soon as I get a chance to replace the diodes.

Ok I just replaced the diodes and the system works fine now so if you are getting the 2 lights like the op shows in his picture then most likely you have a bad diode.

EDIT: On my second time booting it I now have the 3 red lights and 0022 secondary.
