E79 After Xbr Flashed

Sometimes, diodes dont take, or burn out quickly. Try using resistors instead. 120 Ohms or 100 ohms or sometimes even lower does it.

Hope this helps smile.gif

This is exactly how I wire up all my JTAG's and all of them work. I also use the 330 ohm resistor to bridge the points J2D1.4 -> J2D1.7 instead of just a wire.

What is the secondary error code? Have you tried flashing back your stock NAND dump and seeing it it boots back to the MS dash?

I'll check the secondary error code later when I get home. I will also reflash my stock nand before redoing the wiring to see if it still boots to the MS dash.

make sure you insulate the bare wires given that you ran a lot of you jtag cable under  the board.  Could easily be a short w/ the chassis.  So at least cover them up w/ electrical tape to rule that out.

I didn't get a change to do any work on my console until last night. I first reflashed my stock nand and it booted up just fine to the stock MS dash.

After that I did the reverse jtag, using a resistor instead of a wire to bridge the J2D1.4 -> J2D1.7 points, and then I followed this guide http://docs.google.c...mv5h_186pp2zddm to install xellous and xbr.

After the reflash it boots up to xbr about 90% of the time via component cables and about 60% of the time via hdmi the rest of the time I get the e79 error.

I just realized I haven't mentioned its a zephyr so should I consider myself lucky and leave it at that? I thought about flashing it with xbrflash and the debian live cd as some people say after doing so on their zephyrs the errors go away with this guide   https://docs.google....O...zMjY4&hl=en

Also if I do decide to reflash with xbrflash and debian live cd should I reflash my stock nand, install xellous, and then follow the second guide? or could I just boot into xellous with debian live cd like the second guide says and go from there?

You don't need to flash back to stock first. Just make sure you boot into XeLL(ous) with the Debian Live CD in. Then just follow the tutorial you linked smile.gif
