Motherboard Failure (wtf?)

Ouch, you got the $shit end of that stick sad.gif There's nothing I can think of to fix that but I'm then not a PCB repair specialist either. Good luck!

I'm no PCB expert but the surface traces are not too hard to fix.  The problem is that there are likely subsurface traces that are also broken, and those are impossible, or extremely difficult to fix because you don't know what they connect!

Assuming the pcb is more layers than just front and back... I don't know for sure if it is or isn't.  The layers clearly visible in your photo make me think it is.

Looks like the guy tried dremeling the hole larger to add a heatsink using screws that were way too large?
As said in this thread, the surface traces wouldn't be hard to fix, but the rest would be close to impossible. Your best bet is to resell this on ebay. Of course, if they didn't list in the auction (assuming you bought this off of ebay) that they butchered the board, you could probably get your money back.

Thanks for replying!

Guess I'll be selling it again then (didn't get it from eBay).

I know you got screwed.  But it wouldnt be too cool to try and sell it unless you explain that your just selling him some plastic and copper and whatever else the base components of the board are...
Karmas a bitch...

I hope you paid w/ Paypal.   Put a hold on the payment as you contest the purchase.
Tons of buyer protection.  Not sure if it applies to your country though
