Recently fixed the jacked up dvd drive in my old 360 but not before I went out and got a new one.  Was wanting to mod my old 360 primarily to just slap some emulators on it and use as an "old school systems" xbox360. Is that possible to do without having to run through media center? What would I need in order to do this (would I have to put a mod chip in it)?  Obviously I'm a noob to the mod scene so feel free to tell me if this is a stupid question (i.e. not possible to do).  Appreciate any help.

read up on the 360 jtag mod 1st then look in to xexmenu and things like xsnes360  and Genesis Plus 360

that should put you on the right tracks
