Ok so I completely underestimated the point, I did not realise how small and fragile it was until I had stripped that tiny little dab of solder off. I read about some people having luck scratching down a bit on the point with anything to uncover a little bit of copper, I attempted this and have had no such luck. I did scratch a decent amount off, is there any chance this will cause problems with the 360 functioning if I had scratched too deep?
Also after searching around for alternate points I did find a few namely FT1U2, people have said that is much easier than DB1F1. If possible I would prefer to solder it to the top of the board but I havn't seen anything about alternate points for DB1F1 on the top of the motherboard, so I assume there are none? How does FT1U2 compare in difficulty to DB1F1?
I really don't want to mess this second point up as I can't be arsed cutting trace and soldering to the PCB, does anyone have any tips or maybe a video walkthrough on how best to solder the point? I have heard something about flux but I've really never used this before, what is it and is it recommended that I buy and use some for this point?
Lastly if I do have to do FT1U2 as the alternate point, would it be recommended that I solder the diode directly to the point or would it be easier to solder a wire - diode - then another wire to the J2D2?
Thanks much in advance
