I have a Falcon v3 motherboard with 16 MB nand. CD = 5770 I figured out. LPT cable is fine

and the Jtag hack is soldered good.

I need help with figuring out why XBReboot v3 wont work on my xbox.

I know for a fact that my original dumps have bad blocks.

I used NAndcompare to read out 3 dumps of 16 Mb(c1,c2 and c3), compared these and reconstructed one bin(reconstructed.bin)

This was the error in Nandcompare:

1 unrecoverable block(s) found
25D

I proceeded apply the falcon_hack.bin and read the key vault in order to get Xel on the xbox. And applied the update of Xellous through USB stick.

This was a success.

Now it was the turn to install XBReboot.
I tried these versions with the following problems.

XBR 1 = worked and booted fine but only XEX worked of SNES emulators but no (backups from USB HDDl)games could have booted. Creating a folder in XEX menu v1.1 was impossible, it would let you see the virtual keyboard for a second and it would dissapear. This behaviour was also when changing the network setting. I know XBR 1 have a lot of bugs and need to upgrade to newer versions, but those dont work on.

XBR 3 = didnt work, e72 error at boot up and the fan started to blow very loud.

XBR 3a = didnt work, black screen at boot up and the fan started to blow very loud.

XBR_All _16MB_8955_0 didnt work, 3RLOD.

Well for every try I had to put back the original NAND so the fan wouldnt blow so hard. This takes about 50 min.

I read on the forum now about remapping the memory blocks with Redline99's tool:

Which is for ppl that have 16 MB nands like me and need the bad blocks of the original NAND to match the zero config file of XBReboot.

I did so with XBR3A and it didnt work.

I flashed the XBR1 back and it worked again. But I didnt remap the bin file.

Also the XBR1 dont want to boot into Xellous when pressing eject.
I updated with the usb stick and all.

I have also tried to dump the existing XBR1 with Flash360v1.0 and it will give me the following errors time after time:

BF  250
25D 250
304 250
3DE 258
3DF 258

I tried to make a comparison between the dumped from xbox NAND and the XBR1 flashed NAND.

But I think I need to still write to the 250 and the 258 adresses.
I tried this in NANDPRO:

 nandpro lpt: -w16 updflash.bin BF 1
 nandpro lpt: -w16 updflash.bin 25D 1
 nandpro lpt: -w16 updflash.bin 304 1
 nandpro lpt: -w16 updflash.bin 3DE 1
 nandpro lpt: -w16 updflash.bin 3DF 1

But I get errors that I cant program that.

I want to know if XBR3a have a core only update(updslot1.bin - Rebooter)  for the Flash360v1.0 and where do I get this update file to put on the USB stick?

Should I try a different linux to read and write or there is a easier way to fix this with what I have?

I ripped a game to usb hdd and patched the xex and the game launched.

So maybe it is because I am swapping usb hdds from the other jtag xbox to this one and it needed patching.

So now the games work. And the typing in and creating folders works as well.

The mystery still remain though, why wont XBR v3 work on my Falcon board?

And rereading the nand to the usb stick with that program, Flash360v1.0 gave me 5 errors. That is also a problem. But it boots games!

Try replacing the jumper jtag wire with a 330 ohm resistor.

Aha, what does the 330 ohm do for the jtag hack? I understand that is part of the hack. My diodes are not directly to the motherboard, but they are after a little AW30 wires.

Does the loud fan ring a bell? That happens only to only all versions of the XBReboots but V1 of XBR. That I have on it now, because it works.

Eject button to me also doesnt boot in Xell, but it boots the xbox to normal dash.

I did try to update Xell through  Flash360v1.0.

What I didnt try is to update XBR through  Flash360v1.0. Like putting V3a on it like that. But if the black screen comes and the fan starts loud I will have to do it over again(at least Xell/Xellous/ then update through USB stick with XBRv1)

I havent done the Nandpro way either seeing it is slow as hell, like 51 minutes for 16 MB flash of this Falcon.
Maybe I should give it a shot.
