Hitachi 59dj Dvd Issue
« on: February 02, 2010, 06:37:00 AM »

My brother-in-laws 3 year old son decided to play the the xbox dvd drive and put aboput 12 dvd's in it. Needless to say, it doesnt work anymore. Iwent onto ebay and purchased an exact replacement thinking i could just open it and swap them over, however it would only play DVD's and when i put a game into the drive it told me to put an original game in even tho it was an original game. After reading up on it i found out i needed to flash it so i downloaded pslax linux 2.1, burnt iso to disk, got device in mode b and recognised by windows, downloaded Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.2 Stealth 8in1, ran cmd and executed the relivant file. Everything appeared to be ok and at 100% complete and it told me to shut down pc. So i shut down pc, put drive back into xbox and i still get the same issue, i had another drive sent from the same guy from ebay and sent the other back, tried it again and still the same thing happens. Any ideas on how and if i can get to run games on this thing again.

Many thanks

All you need to do is open up the drives and swap the pcb board. There are guides on you tube. It really is a simple process and it is alot easier I think than flashing the drives. It does have to be the exact same drive to do. In your case a 59dj.
