Jtag 360 Will Not Power On When Lpt Cable Pluged Into Computer?
« on: January 26, 2010, 02:40:00 PM »

this is a xenon jp board, i soldiered all the cables, check with multimeter for bridges/cold soldiers. the system turns on fine but when i plug the lpt cable into my computer it does not turn on at all. i am using the "new xenon pinouts" i have re done all the wired and check twice. i am using 2 switching diods for jtag, none for lpt and the 5 330 resisters on lpt.. anyone have any clue?

its not supposed to turn on with the lpt cable plugged into the pc.  you read/write the nand wilst the 360 is powered off but has the psu plugged in.  shouldnt the lpt cable have 100 ohm resistors on there and a diode?

Yep - if the LPT is plugged into your PC, then the 360 won't boot. You should be using (dependant on your PC LPT port), 100ohm resistors + switching diode for LPT, and Switching diodes for the JTAG wiring.

the free360 tutorial put the lpt diod as optional, once i added the diod it worked perfectly.
