Would that work?

Install a second NAND in the xbox, put my dump on the new NAND and boot XBR from there.

Assuming you throw a power switch between the two chips and that you posses the skills to solder those pins without bridges, I don't see why not.

However, I would consider just doing the XD mod instead.  XD cards are pin to pin compatible with the NAND chips in the 360, so you can solder in a card reader and use that as a backup NAND.
