You need to do the lpt cable soldering to read and write the flash chip. Then you need to install the jtag wires to boot xell or XBR.

If you are only reading out the NAND to edit some code to unlock the hard drive from a ban then no you dont need to jtag wires. BUT if you want to load homebrew or xell to get your DVD/CPU key then yes you need to do the jtag wires.

If you flash XBR to your NAND it will load up just like a normal NXE dashboard, but with the ability to load homebrew. You will be able to play all the latest games and such.


Or do you not want anything do do with homebrew and only want to get your DVD key?

if you want the dvd key you must read nand , flash xbr -have jtag wires in place boot into xell -take picture
then if you want to go back to original  nand ( no homebrew ) flash it back and you must remove jtag wires (at least i had to )

running homebrew means u can run unsigned code , mainly used for xexloader (loading games from an external hard drive (fat-32) , unlocking all dlc , including xbl arcade games etc , or changing  sytem region
or can make games region free in xexloader

i guess ill now search out the proper jtag tuts for these boards since ive noticed that the boards have different jtag solder points and some require resistors to be added to work properly. Also will look for the tut of flashing xbr and whats all needed to get this bin to work with each board.
