512 Jasper, Lpc-h2148 Port, R6t3 Connector
« on: January 04, 2010, 07:01:00 AM »

Hello,

Some of you might not have removed R6T3 yet, but you should. In my case I added a few more steps to my Build. Some have had easy success at just "popping off" the R6T3, while others have fried their 360's because of the "glob of solder" technique. I wanted to make sure I got it right the first time and didn't want to damage my 360.

As a Bonus, I added a "USB SPI Port" to the 360, so that the LPC-H2148 can easily be replaced whenever needed.(specially since its a 512 Jasper) Whenever I need to Update or reflash my NAND, i can access the "USP LPT Port" by removing the 360 HDD, pop in the LPC-H2148, plug to PC's USB

Here's the Finished 360 (finished for now at least)

I couldn't get the pics to show on the thread

This is what I did to remove R6T3 and added a connector just in case I ever need it again(doubtful but who knows), or if I ever get an E80 error.

The MicroScope was paired with a Laser so it would make it easier to Align and Zoom in on R6T3 Resistor. When looking through the scope one might think you are right over the R6T3, but when zoomed in, you may be way off. So the Laser was just used to align the R6T3 into view. You can see the Red Laser in the Pics.

Here's a few Close Ups of the R6T3 removed and a few more pics of the wiring of the connector

Man, it was difficult. Well worth it I think.

You can litteraly fit a Gillete Razor Blade  between those 2 weld points on the R6T3.

I had to take my time on it so I didnt bridge the soldering. It all works Great though.

The LPC-H2148 crystal gave me some problems too. A common error on the 12K Crystal had me losing my mind on why I couldnt program the NandPro2b Hex file. Then I found a usefull post and a file that would make it recognized as a 16K Crystal. That did the trick. Hexxed it, plugged in to USB and dumped the Nand about 6 times(just to be safe)

Now I need to mod the Lite-On 7450C(whatever its called) that came with this 360. I heard those are a pain too. I might just spoof a Benny on it, or if anyone wants to gimme some pointers on this drive. I have the VIA6421 PCI card allready and the spear is in the mail.

This whole Xbox Community has taught me Alot.

My next project for that 360 will be Soldering a 2TB HDD and I'm thinking of putting the whole thing in a Lian-Li LowPro case and adding Vapo-Chill R134 coolant system to the CPU/GPU.

But in the meantime, playing HomeBrew on this 360 is taking up alot of time  smile.gif

You only needed the spear to read the key but as you have JTagged and you have the NAND and can get the key from that, anyway go read the tut thats available with JungleFlasher to learn about flashing your drive http://jungleflasher.net/
